Author Larry Tate is by profession a business owner, operating the same business for over thirty-five years. Several years ago, Larry began writing short articles, primarily for his own enjoyment. Eventually, he turned to book writing. Larry's desire is to encourage others to listen to their innermost yearnings to know God.

Larry and his wife, Ginger, have been married for over thirty-seven years. They currently reside in Oklahoma. They have two married children, Kristy and Rodney.

Many people often wonder: Is there a God? What is God? Where is God? Did God create the universe? How do I fit in? Does God care about me? Is there life after death? Can I have a relationship with God? How do I know that God loves me? Can the existence of God be proven? Questions about God seem to never end.

There have been many philosophers who have attempted to prove God’s Existence. Blaise Pascal put forth Pascal’s Wager. St. Thomas Aquina's Five Ways attempts to prove that God exists in a variety of arguments. William Paley is known for Paley’s Teleological Argument, which suggests that the world exhibits an intelligent purpose. St. Anselm’s Ontological Argument is based on reason alone. St. Augustine’s Argument from Causality suggests that everything that exists was caused by something else.

Larry's book, Conversations With A Stranger is a story of a man who grew up not believing in God. Without giving much thought to God, he just lived his life from day to day. If he were to consider the existence of God, he would need to be presented with absolute proof.

One day, he had coffee with a stranger in a coffee shop. This encounter led him down a path of discovery about God's existence. During the course of several conversations with the stranger, he very well may have found some compelling proofs of God's existence. What he did not know was that he was about to stumble onto something he was not expecting to find; something that was far beyond what he imagined discovering. What he found is not what he started out looking for.

This is a story for both believers and non-believers. Non-believers may discover that there really is a God who has a personal interest in them. Believers may discover their purpose in God's Kingdom.

This is a story of what he finds and how he finds it. It is a compelling story that will be enjoyed by anyone interested in knowing and obeying God's call on their life.

Reviews

"In Conversations with a Stranger, Larry Tate has brilliantly created a unique Christian evangelistic technique that, like a good mystery, lures the reader to seek the outcome." Jim Head, Patent, Trademark and Copyright Attorney.

Larry Tate has written a provocative novel. He uses an encounter between two people to explore how a 'doubting Thomas' might deal with questions about God's place in his life. In this time of exploding information, a technically trained person may think he needs logical proof, but Larry shows us that answers may be found in other ways and in other places." Otis Winters, Chairman, Oriole Oil Company.

"Quite simply put, Conversations with a Stranger lets us know without a doubt that God exists, and the only way to Heaven is through his Son, Jesus. In a world of unpredictability and uncertainty, Larry Tate brings comfort, assurance, and peace of mind in knowing who we put our belief and trust in." Raj Patel, DDS, JD.
